ABOUT ME AND MY APPROACH:
A NONTRADITIONAL APPROACH TO MENTAL WELLNESS
A Nontraditional & Holistic Approach to
mental sovereignty
I offer a Jungian-inspired, relational, and non-pathologizing approach to healing, rooted in depth psychology and psychedelic integration. In my practice, we embrace a unique approach to mental wellness that honors your individuality and spiritual essence. Moving beyond traditional clinical frameworks, I focus on a dynamic, engaging process that respects your autonomy and inherent wholeness.
By utilizing alchemical and mythic frameworks, we view your life not as a series of problems to be solved, but as a sacred architecture to be mapped and understood.
The Mythic Lens: Mapping the Unseen Architecture
When we find ourselves in the crosswinds of chronic health challenges, hormonal shifts, or relational upheaval, the narrative thread of our lives often feels frayed or lost. In these moments, standard clinical labels feel reductive.
A Mythic Consultation is an invitation to look behind the curtain of the "everyday." By synthesizing Jungian Archetype Theory, Somatic Resonance, and Alchemical Symbolism, we move beyond the diagnostic to find the Teleology—the inherent purpose and direction within the struggle. This is a high-level inquiry for those who sense that their personal challenges are part of a larger, mythic process of Individuation.
The Alchemical Lab: Healing Through Emotional Acceptance
Conventional therapy often relies on rigid treatment plans, but I believe healing is a personal journey that cannot be standardized. As mental health care evolves, many of us are seeking alternative paths to wellness. My practice offers a holistic perspective, diverging from the Western bio-medical model that often pathologizes human experiences.
I see the "symptoms" of the psyche as the raw material for alchemical work. I critique the colonial mindset, which historically labeled non-conformity as "wrong," and instead invite a process of Solve et Coagula—the necessary breaking down of old structures so that the soul can reorganize into a more authentic form.
Embracing the Full Spectrum of Emotions
In my work, I recognize that suffering is part of the human condition. Symptoms are the cries for help our psyches so desperately need us to hear, not something to be suppressed. Inspired by thinkers like James Hillman and Viktor Frankl, I find meaning and purpose in life's challenges.
I reject the notion that mental suffering is a label for the few; instead, I see it as a shared human experience. Whether you are in a "Tower Moment" of destruction or a "Nigredo" phase of darkness and transformation, my goal is to help you see your pain as a Methodology rather than a mistake.
Goodbye DSM and Methodical "Treatment Plans"
Many of us have been taught to dismiss or pathologize our emotions, leading to repressed feelings and mental distress. I personally challenge societal clichés like "good vibes only," advocating for true positivity through acceptance and depth.
Our work will focus on developing Sovereign Navigation—identifying where power has been projected onto external "figures" and developing the psychic tools to reclaim your authority. By embracing the "negative" and the "dark" as essential alchemical stages, we foster genuine emotional well-being.
Non-Dual Therapies for True Emotional Well-Being
My practice emphasizes "non-dual" therapies, creating a safe space for you to explore and validate your emotions. I will guide you in discovering your inherent worth and goodness, helping you build a life that aligns with your true self.
In this container, you won't be asked, "What's wrong with you?" Instead, we celebrate your perfection just as you are, treating physical "pressure" or illness as a symbolic threshold—translating biological signals into soulful insights
Join me on this transformative journey to embrace your full self and find peace and fulfillment in every aspect of your life.

About Holly Flammer
My Journey: From Spiritual Emergency to Depth Psychology Guidance
I grew up on a small farm in rural Central Arkansas, surrounded by miles of remote woods and dirt roads (and not much more). After earning a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Sociology in 2008, I ventured west and began my journey as a outdoor educator for the National Park Service, immersed in the beauty of Sequoia National Park and other iconic landscapes throughout the mountain West. My travels eventually led me to South Lake Tahoe, where I fell in love with the mind-blowing scenery and decided to settle in this incredible region in 2010. My great-grandparents, Artie and Dick Carson, lived in Tahoe City and Reno, where they owned a butcher shop in the 1940s and 50s. It wasn’t until I moved to this area that I learned about my family’s long history here. I believe we’re often drawn to places where we have soul connections or contracts to fulfill, and for me, this region feels like one of those destined places.
In Tahoe, I opened a small art and furniture shop that specialized in upcycled creations (think flea market flip!). The stress of entrepreneurship, coupled with unaddressed trauma, propelled me toward a daily Hatha and Kundalini yoga practice. In the summer of 2015 my grandmother took her life, the business was failing, I lost a significant long term relationship, all of which culminated in a “spiritual emergency” that altered my life path.
This massive shift in consciousness inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology at Sofia University, where I focused on mystical consciousness, somatic healing, and the transformative power of altered states of consciousness, including psychedelics. My thesis explored yoga as a tool for trauma recovery, laying the groundwork for my deep interest in mind-body healing. After graduating in 2019, I worked in community mental health, supporting individuals facing homelessness, addiction, and severe mental illness. These years were deeply humbling and revealed the systemic flaws in how we approach mental health care. It remains a deep passion and priority of mine to offer high-level services to individuals who cannot typically afford it.
During the pandemic, I transitioned to working with foster care children and began pursuing a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology and Integrative Therapy & Healing Practices at Pacifica Graduate Institute.. This program profoundly shaped my understanding of the psyche, teaching me to embrace the unconscious, shadow work, and the depth of human experience. While my Master’s focused on transcendence and higher states of consciousness, Pacifica taught me the importance of “going down” into the depths of the soul to achieve wholeness.
My current research and dissertation centers on psychedelic-induced psychosis, exploring why some individuals experience ongoing spiritual phenomena and psychosis after psychedelic use. Using a Jungian framework, I am investigating how lack of ego development and healthy self-orientation play critical roles in these experiences. My work aims to challenge the narrative that “ego death” is always desirable, particularly for younger individuals, and to explore how we can repair and integrate injuries to the underdeveloped Self.
Outside My Work: Creativity, Nature & Everyday Wisdom
In my personal life, I thrive on creativity, connection, and nature. I live in Reno with my three cats in a cozy midcentury home where I garden, sew, paint, keep bees and practice herbalism. My garden apothecary is a decade-long labor of love, producing herbal potions and remedies that keep me grounded and connected to the earth.
I practice a blend of spirituality rooted in pagan, tantrik and contemplative non-dual spiritual traditions, informed by years of transforming religious trauma into self-discovery. Movement, body awareness practices and mindfulness are integral to my daily life, from icey cold river baths, to yoga to long walks and paddleboarding in the Eastern Sierra. Whether painting mandalas, crafting clothes, or fly fishing along alpine streams, I find peace in the balance of creativity and nature.
Through my work and my life, I aim to help others uncover their own path to healing and wholeness.
